International mirror group regarding the impact of the project results on future legislative measures concerning emission limits
The project aims at a successful demonstration of new ultra-low emission small-scale biomass heating systems, which should then define a new milestone regarding low emission residential biomass combustion systems. Moreover, the project intends to provide inputs and recommendations for the future definition of reduced emission limits.
In order to critically follow the work within the project and to discuss the project results and achievements with international authorities active in legislation making regarding emission limits as well as with experts of standardization bodies and test laboratories, an international mirror group has been formed. Not only representatives from the countries represented by the project partners but also from other EU-countries as well as European organisations active in this field have been invited to participate in this mirror group.

The mirror group receives regular updates about the progress of the project and is invited to participate in two dedicated workshops.
The 1st workshop took place on the 28th of November 2012 in Brussels (Belgium). The ULD project was presented to the mirror group, the technologies demonstrated in the project were introduced and first results were discussed. Furthermore, a comparison of the ULD technologies with BAU (business as usual) and BAT (best available technologies) in terms of environmental performance were presented and discussed.
The final results achieved within the project as well as specific policy proposals have been discussed during the 2nd workshop in Brussels on the 3rd of December 2013.
